Nimisha is a chartered consultant clinical psychologist and a Reader in Clinical Psychology on the Doctoral Degree Programme in Clinical Psychology, University of East London. She has practised as a chartered clinical psychologist since 1989 in the National Health Service, specialising in clinical practice, research, training and consultancy on developing appropriate psychological health services for minority ethnic people, including refugees; and in establishing standards of psychological and other mental health services for these groups, working with service user networks, the Department of Health, UK and the British Psychological Society.

 

She has extensive experience in clinical work, research and policy development in relation to torture survivors and in consulting to several international organisations as well as consulting to, supervising and training health professionals in the UK and internationally.
