Biography

Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem, Czech Republic

 

Mr. Martin Veselý is the head of the Department of History in the Faculty of Arts at the University of J.E. Purkyně. During his research he has been devoted to the problems of Czech-German relations and the period of the existence of the so-called - Reichsgau Sudetenland (1938-1945).

He is the author of a number of studies and monographs and has participated in various projects in this field. In addition to the above mentioned Mr. Vesely teaches the modern history of the world.

Martin is a graduate of the Faculty of Education, University of Ústí nad Labem. He achieved a doctorate in 2007 at the University of Hradec Králové. In 2012 he received his Habilitation for the work of Sudetengau as the bomb shelter of the Third Reich? (1938-1945). During the years 2002-2007, he worked at the Institute of Slavonic and Germanic studies and up to the year 2013 as an assistant professor. Currently he is an associate professor at the Department of History.
